Bø filmsalong | Father Mother Sister Brother

I FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER explores Jim Jarmusch's complex relationships between adult children and parents in a three-part family story. The film follows three families in the USA, Dublin, and Paris, where siblings are reunited with each other or with their parents.
With a star-studded ensemble, including Cate Blanchett, Adam Driver, and Tom Waits, the film offers a meditative cinema experience, balancing humor and melancholy in Jarmusch's characteristic quirky style.
Meditative and dry-witted, FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER is a quiet reflection on the lifelong task of trying – and often failing – to truly get to know the people closest to us.
Jim Jarmusch – one of the most important indie directors in American cinema – is also a playwright and actor.
FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER won the Golden Lion for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival 2025.

We have invited Sveinung Wålengen to the salon section. He is a film scholar and cinema manager at Gimle Cinema in Oslo, and he is also a writer for the film magazine Montages. He will talk about Jim Jarmusch and his films.
The film will be shown in the Storsalen. After the film, there will be a "salon" in Framstugo, with a guest, light refreshments (included in the ticket), and time for conversation around the tables.
Welcome!
