You register termination by logging in to My page and navigating to My tenancy. The termination period is three - 3 - months (not for international students*).
*Non-cancellable contracts for international students
International students are awarded contracts that are non-cancellable and last until June 30 or July 31, based on the student's wishes.
Are you unsure of what applies in your contract? Read §4 in your tenancy agreement, where you will find correct information about the duration of your tenancy.
Yes you can - but please note!
If you are an International student with non-cancellable contract, or a students with regular contract (with a 3-month notice period) you are required to pay rent during the notice period — regardless of when you move out.
When you submit your notice, you can specify your preferred move-out date. This allows our housing advisors to see that your unit may become available for others on the waiting list.
Please note: There is no guarantee that we can release you from your contract earlier.
We will send you an email and SMS if someone signs a contract for your unit before your notice period ends.
If you register the desired move-out date and change your mind, you must contact SSN. If the contract for your housing is already signed by another tenant, it will be too late to change your mind.
If you’ve changed your mind, please get in touch with us at [email protected] as soon as you can. We’ll check whether your room has already been rented to someone else, and if it’s still available, we’ll do our best to help you keep it.
Special rules
Special rules apply if you have signed the tenancy agreement with us before the main admission to Samordna opptak (which is by 20 July), and are not admitted to the programme.
You can cancel your tenancy agreement on My page by 31 July and be released from your contract. (This does not apply to international students with irrevocable contracts).
Terminate and move out, and re-apply?
NB! Tenants who move out of SSN-housing after April 15th, and then apply for a new lease for the autumn semester of the same year, will go to the bottom of the waiting list. You may therefore find that it takes longer to be allocated a new student accommodation.
