Porsgrunn
We welcome 60 international students together with our hosting students and about 20 international teachers for lectures and workshops at campus Porsgrunn. This is part of Socnet98, the European network of social work universities.
Programme and registrationOur topic this year will focus on Activities in Social Work. We hope this topic will allow a wide variety of approaches to activities within methods in social work, as well as different experiences using activities regarding different challenges.
Student registration:
The main goal for the IUW 2025 in Norway is to let students and teachers interact with other students and teachers. We would like to give an opportunity to share experiences and establish contacts for studies and research in social work.
Our students and teachers have made a program for all participants with focus on activities, both inside and outside, so bring your good shoes and warm jackets!
We have also prepared Workshops with mixed student and teacher groups, with the purpose of regarding the topic from different perspectives and generate new solutions. If you have current issues from different perspectives of culture in social work in your country – please bring them to the workshops.
Sleeping accomodationHotel Vic IUW2025If you wish to stay at Hotel Vic, we ask that you form groups and give yourselves a "group name". This will make it easier for us to assign you the correct rooms. If you would like a single or double room, there will be a small additional fee payable directly to the hotel upon arrival. Once you have chosen a group, our student assistants, Julie and Gina, together with the hotel, will ensure that you have the sleeping arrangements you need.
Wilderness IUW 2025 Experience – Highly Recommended! To truly experience the Norwegian culture of friluftsliv (outdoor living), we highly recommend choosing this experience, which involves sleeping in large lavvus. You will be sleeping outdoors on the campus grounds. A lavvu is a temporary dwelling/large tent used by the Sami people in the northern areas of Northern Europe. There will be a wood-burning stove in the lavvus, and you will have access to all the campus facilities, such as showers, restrooms, saunas, etc. You should pack warm clothes for the evenings/nights, but we provide warm sleeping bags that you can borrow. You will also receive breakfast vouchers for the campus café, and we will arrange special dinners for you that provide a wilderness experience throughout the week. We hope you choose this option as we highly recommend it!
The IUW fee of 210€ will for students cover:
